Check if you have any firewall running on the network that prevents DDNS services.

Hi, I am using the Windows update client and get the same results even after allowing port 8245 access. I ended up uninstalling and installing the old version.

Before this, set up the location on the DYNU website eg Home, It must be the same you use to log into the update client.

If you used a user password that includes special characters you will have to set or update your update client password to not include these characters. You could change your main password but I left it as is for better security.

After you install the old version of the update client and run it, go to the "Connection Type" tab if not already there and check the "Use 8245" option. Put in the username and password and the Location that you set above.

I imagine the Location option in the new IP update client allows you to differentiate between DNS Domains if you have two or more setup in your account.

I have good security and did not need to unblock port 8245 for it to function.
