Topic: Only allow connections from whitelisted IPs?
Is there a way to set up a "whitelist" of IPs to allow connections through?I ask because I want to point a dnyu dynamic dns to my home backup server and would like to limit connections to it to only a small number of IPs of family members...Thank you in advance,Ari

If you want to access the RDP from outside the network e.g. through the Internet, but want to restrict the access to specific IP address, you can accomplish this through your Windows firewall. In order to restrict RDP to specific IP addresses,1. Go to the control panel->Administrative Tools2. Windows Firewall with Advanced Settings3. Inbound Rules4. Remote Desktop (TCP-In)5. Go to the Properties->Scope tab6. Add the IP (or IP range) in the Remote IP addresses sectionThis can only work if your family members' IPs are fixed because only IP addresses can be added to the firewall.

Thank you. I can do that in the Windows firewall, or better yet in the edge router's firewall. However, I would like to try the filtering even before the traffic gets to my network - hence the question about at the DNS forwarding level. Is this possible at Dynu (which is a GREAT service and already has a lot of features compared to other dynamic dns providers)? I know it's possible at CloudFlare, for example.Thank you again,Ari
