I have setup DHCP in my router and can successfully configure my MacBook Pro. When I add Google's public name servers to the DHCP config (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4) everything works fine.

When I replace The Google servers with Dynu servers (example: 199.241.29.200, 173.255.227.222, 207.38.70.53) Mac name lookup fails.

Interesting data point: using nslookup or dig will return valid answers. Using a browser fails and using Apple's Network Utility also fails.

Dynu name servers are not public DNS servers and they will only return DNS lookup results for domain names that have DNS zones hosted with the servers.

You can find a list of public DNS servers here.
