I have a free dynamic dns account for my cctv system and could not gain access while away in another country. It works seemlessly when at home in the UK. Is this because it is a free account? Thanks in advance for any help.

There are no restrictions in the free account to cause this behavior. It is possible that the port you are trying to access is blocked outbound on the internet you are using when outside the UK. You can use the online network tools to check if the port is accessible as well as ping the current IP address for response.
